Position Start Date: July 1, 2023
Work alongside Kerri & Kelley during the 2023-2024 school year.
Transition to full-time duties during 2024-2025 school year.
Can be a current teacher during 2023-2024, but must be a non-teacher (retired or otherwise no longer in practice) during 2024-2025 school year.
Tentative Calendar of Work Responsibilities
This is a chart that outlines the basic duties of the role of Area 6 FFA Coordinator. This list is not exhaustive of all duties, but provides a guide for the minimum expectation of work that will be completed by the Area Coordinator. As responsibilities are changed based on Texas FFA requirements or the needs of the Area 6 FFA Association, they will be subject to adjustment.
Executive Meeting -- prepare handouts/agenda for meeting. Take notes during meeting.
Teacher’s Planning Meeting -- Prepare handouts/agenda for meeting. Take notes during meeting.
ALC -- Help as needed with Area Camp Coordinator & Area Leadership Development Coordinator-- copies, purchase supplies, etc.
Update website with calendar and contact information from planning meeting & conference
Create email distribution lists for new year
Communicate Area event dates to JudgingCard for registration
GH Camp Registration (reminders, consolidation of registration, add/drop assistance)
Area LDE Registration
LDE Facilitation -- make contest packets with rules, scoresheets, etc for each district and area.
Management of Area contest the day of event
Secure judges for State LDE
Facilitate ERubrics for District & Area
Facilitate Quiz scantrons at District & Area LDE
Facilitate Scantron use by schools hosting invitational events
Make, post, & update schedule for Area LDE
Attend Area LDE contest for registration, dues collection, etc.
GH Camp -- make copies as needed, purchase supplies as needed, coordinate with GHC coordinator
Area Officer Applications -- Collect and distribute AO applications for scoring.
Prepare rubrics and materials for AO interview/test in January
Talent Team Registrations
District Conventions -- coordinate with District Presidents as needed
Area Officer Test & Interview Day
Consolidated check register and send to accountant for tax preparation
Make registration packets for Horse CDE.
Run scantron at Horse CDE when available
Run scantron at NTCC CDE when available
Coordinate with NTCC as needed for CDE events, consolidate registration
Area Degree Check -- speaking judge packets, facilitate food for degree check participants. Make copies of information needed for Area Officer Meeting.
Consolidated financial report for current school year to be presented at Executive Meeting
Secure committees for Area and State, submissions to State, contacting advisors for corrections
Secure judges for Area & State Speaking Development Events
Email forwards from state offices, from schools, etc.
Maintain website with current information and/or updates
Monthly financial reconciliation
Share information with AO & AO Advisors
Area Officer discipline as needed
Approve expense items related to Area business
