Greenhand Camp: Know Before You Go
1.)Check In: 7:00am-7:45am at the Tabernacle. The opening session will start at 8:00am sharp. Please do not be late.
2.) Student Attire: Jeans/ Long Pants (No Holes), Closed Toed Shoes, Camp T-Shirts will be picked up at check in.
3.) Please make a copy and complete the 2024 Greenhand Camp Liability and Release Form for your students attending camp.
3.) Camp is from 8:00am to 8:00pm. Please plan for your campers to stay through dinner. In years past some chapters
have decided to leave and their students were recognized at the banquet and were not there to receive their award.
4.) Don't forget your community service items benefiting Hi-Way 80 Rescue Mission. We are collecting personal care items (travel size soap, tooth brushes, toothpaste, deodorant) and cases of water. Please see the attached flyer for more details.
5.) Young men will need a tie for their etiquette workshop.
Registration Reminders:
Camp Dates: Greenhand Camp this year will be held on either December 12th or 13th (Depending on which day you register for). Camp this year will again be held as two, separate day camps (No overnight for campers).
Camp Times: Camp will begin at 8 am each day and will conclude around 8 pm. Schedule information will be mailed/posted closer to the date of camp.
Camp Location: Timberline Baptist Camp in Lindale.
Camp Numbers: Each school will be able to register up to 7 greenhand campers (This does not include your A/O's or D/O's). There is a capacity max of 250 campers each of the two days of camp. Once registration hits capacity for each day, a waitlist will be automatically created in JudgingCard.
Camp Registration: Registration will open on Judging Card on October 10th, at 12:00 pm. Advisors can drop students up until November 20th and receive a refund/account credit.
You will have the option to choose either the 7th or 8th as the day that your campers attend. Select the registration link from the calendar on the day you wish to attend. Each day will be cut off at 250 campers. Your campers must attend as a group on the same day (ie: you can’t bring part of your students one day and part of them the next. We will remove your registration from one of the days if you register for both.)
There will be several different registration options for campers, officers, and advisors as follows:
Greenhand Camper Registration ($65)- This includes all camp costs- Timberline fee, two meals, shirt, bag, etc. Note that you will need to include your camper's shirt sizes when you register.
District/Area Officer ($65)- Although the DO & AO will participate in both days of camp, you only need to register them once on DAY 1 of Camp (12/12). Area and District officers will stay at Timberline on the nights of 12/12 and 12/13 to give them adequate time to prepare for workshops and minimize travel back and forth. A/Oś will arrive at 1 pm on the 11th and D/Oś at 5 pm (Obviously if you are a chapter that has both and it makes sense for you to bring them both at the same time, that will be fine).
Chaperoning (OVERNIGHT) Advisor for District or Area Officers ($65)- only select this option if you are an advisor that will be chaperoning district/area officers and staying the night with them. This includes lodging, meals, and a shirt.
Advisor Meals ($25)- For advisors who are planning to eat meals at camp- We know that some advisors prefer to go elsewhere for food. Students must eat their meals at camp. Advisors may choose to leave and eat elsewhere. However, if you are planning to stay onsite and eat with your campers, then this will cover the amount for that. Additionally, this is where we will come up with the head count for the number of mouths to feed- so if you register to eat and then don’t, it results in wasted food. Please consider that. We have run into that in the past at greenhand camp and ALC.
Advisor Shirts ($20)- If you would like to purchase your own greenhand camp shirt, you may do so under this option at registration. Please note that if you register to stay overnight with a d/o team, a shirt is rolled into that cost.
There will not be any recreation activities this year. BUT, there is a dance at the end of each day :)
Registration closes on November 15th or once capacity is reached. You’ll have up to that point to make any changes to your registration as needed.
